Program & Scope of Practice

Level I

Preventative

Focuses on muscle imbalance, postural deficits, limited range of motion and other functional deficiencies to reverse, minimize or prevent further decline.


Level II

Progressive

Maintains the focus of Level I with an increased intensity by incorporating advanced movement patterns with an emphasis on restoring the client to a higher functional level.


Level III

Functional

Focuses on maintaining functional level by incorporating sport specific activities, recreational activities and activities of daily living. Clients that are discharged from other programs but require assistance with functional areas of performance including ambulation may remain in the program indefinitely.

MET (Medical Exercise Training)

Protocol based exercise programs are developed containing specific staged exercises and functional outcome measures for each client.

Personal Program Development

Instructors highly trained in medical exercise program design will help clients reach their goals by developing personalized exercise programs.

Screening

Is a brief observation conducted by a Medical Exercise Specialist about obvious findings regarding postural and muscle imbalance.

Educational Programs

Individualized and group training programs are offered to clients, families, and professional staff members specific to exercise techniques and procedures.

Assessments

Conducted by Medical Exercise Specialist to obtain all the information about the clients condition. A base line for each component of fitness is established including: Cardio, Strength, Flexibility, Balance, and overall functional level.

Specialized Meetings

Offering services and recommendations to facilities on fitness room design and equipment that will meet resident’s needs for healthy active aging.

Preventative Care

Education and guidelines are provided for clients and family members. A well designed Exercise Program combined with a healthy diet and positive changes in lifestyle can prevent people from gaining weight or becoming obese, developing diabetes, increasing cholesterol, resting heart rate, and blood pressure levels, and minimizes the risk of injury.
